About

Hi Everyone! I’m Daliene from Happydally blog.  I began this blog as a personal challenge to share the positive things in my daily life. Teacherbarbie by day, and Just Dance 3 Champion by night, I love photography, cooking, crafting, and making people laugh (or gag, depending on the story). My dog Sherman, my South African Farmboy, and LOTS of good food are what make me Happydally.

Oh, how I identify with your concerns about public education in this country. We have become so automated…when do kids get the chance to think, to question, to explore? My district uses a direct instruction reading program that has the kids reading word…by….word…in unison no less! And then they freak out when the kiddos don’t read fast enough (my principal’s definition of fluency is SPEED) Then we wonder why kids stop reading in 3rd grade and above…we are teaching them to hate reading- and driving all of the joy out of learning.
Keep up the great work…and don’t give up. One little drop of water at a time can carve a canyon…

hi-is it just me…? i can’t seem to comment on your posts-it says ‘comment’ but it doesn’t seem to be a hyperlink…

I think I just have to approve your first comment and then you are good to go after that. I’m new to WordPress and it is my NEMESIS!!!! Hopefully over Spring Break I can change themes. :) I’m excited to read about your African adventures. Farmboy is South African, so I am always wanting to travel there. I kept a blog several years ago when I lived in Costa Rica…always plenty of funny stories to tell. Thanks for posting!
